26 Jan 072: Bruce Kaider on how to become the trusted adviser to high profile athletes
In today’s episode, you’ll hear from Bruce Kaider, the founder of One Management Group & Consulting (OMGC), of which he has been a director since 2006.
The reason I invited Bruce onto the show is because I heard some great things about him from a person I trust and I was curious to understand Bruce’s perspective on building trust and relationships with some of the best sportspeople on the planet.
Like many service professionals, Bruce has become the trusted adviser to his clients – a confidante whom they can turn to – not only in hours of need, but for all manner of different requests.
You’ll hear how Bruce is proactive in his communication and relationship building with clients and thinks laterally about ways to support them beyond the expected contractual requirements.
With over 18 years’ experience in sport and business, Bruce has worked in a range of organisations including import / export, professional sports teams, international multi-sport events and in his role at OMGC as a talent manager and business strategist.
He has recently formed a start up company with partner, Andrew Bogut, Essential Performance Garments (EPG) in the area of medical grade compression garments and One Financial & Mortgage Services (OFMS) in partnership with AFL athlete Shaun Higgins, providing clients access to a network of highly qualified professionals in the fields of account, mortgage broking, financial planning and accounting.
What you’ll learn on this episode:
- How Bruce kicked off his business as a hobby
- How One Management expanded in the US marketplace
- His approach to negotiating contracts
- Why being a ‘player agent’ is a demanding profession
